Bio
.
Alex Martinez is an arts educator with more than 20 years of experience and currently teaches at Jersey City Arts High School. In 2023, he earned a Master’s degree in Studio Art from the Florence Academy of Art, where he trained in classical drawing and painting, atelier methods, and realism.
As an educator and practicing artist, Alex’s work bridges traditional techniques with contemporary visual language. His surrealist drawings and paintings explore themes of identity, personal experience, and the universality of visual communication. His practice combines rigorous classical training with a contemporary approach to narrative and visual communication.
Alex maintains a studio in West Orange, New Jersey, where he continues his artistic practice alongside his work as an educator.
